Bumble Bees

He we are.. at the end of our pre-school journey, we hope that you have enjoyed your stay with us and that we were able to help you prepare for your all important start in the "Big school"...

Writing

Children are interested in their names because they represent who they are. They’re an important part of their identity and children are proud of them. Think of how often they’re asked, “What is your name?”

Children’s names are the first words they understand and can identify with – so they connect print with something very meaningful. This leads to an interest in trying to “copy” it by scribbling at first, and then by writing in a more conventional way.

That being an important part, they also learn to write numbers 1-20 in order and the alphabet letters from a-z.

Writing is a part of what makes aech of us special, for no one writes the same as you...

Personal Information

In today's day and age, it is important for every child child to know as much personal information as possible.

Here they are taught their name & surname, mom and dad's names, where they live (what their address is) and either parent's contact or emergency number.

The police and fire department numbers are also taught at an early age, if they do not have a lot of personal information.

If in the event of getting lost, it is easier for the child to approach and officer / adult and state the known information to help them male a swift return to their family.

Fine Motor Skills

Fine motor skills are achieved when children learn to use their smaller muscles, like muscles in the hands, fingers, and wrists. Children use their fine motor skills when writing, holding small items, buttoning clothing, turning pages, eating, cutting with scissors, and using computer keyboards. Mastery of fine motor skills requires precision and coordination.

Fine motor skills develop after gross motor skills.

It also refers to the level of hand-eye co-ordination and which side is more dominant than the other, thus deciding the permanent dominant side.
