Ponies
From completing the Dolphin class, they come over to here. The learning continues to focus on life skills, literacy & numeracy, but adds a few extra subjects to focus on...

Group Work
Each of us is special as an individual but stronger as a group!
We focus on doing tasks where everyone has an important role to play. Throught doing this we teach patience & sharing.
Patience: to give everyone time to ensure thier role is excecuted correctly & waiting for your turn to come.
Sharing: It is an important quality to have & can build a type of trust between the children.
The teachers also engage in the group activities & help guide them throught any problems they may encounter & teach them the right way of taking an activity on as a team... as one...

Correct Pencil Grip
What child does not love to colour or draw?
Teaching them the correct way to hold their pencil/ crayon can have various effects:
* The neatness of the writing (Penmanship)
* The size of the writing
* The initial completion of letters & sentences.
With colouring a picture, it can also effect the direction and if they colour inside or outside the lines.
Though every child will end up settling on a pencil grip that works best for him or her, introducing the standard “tripod” grasp (pinching with thumb and index finger while resting on middle finger) is a good place to start.

Participation
Because our classes are limited, we love to engage in various types of activities that each child gets a turn to participate in individually.
During every group discussion they are required to give their oppinion of the subject & we encourage them to do so every chance they get.
This in return builds courage & self confidence for future events; private / public.
If they have a leading a role in the school play or simply doing a show & tell, they have the pride to be standing there and knowing they are important for that time being.
They have a voice, we help them use it...
